The banking sector is undergoing an unprecedented shift: in light of the digital revolution, new innovative challenges and advanced technologies are changing the sector.
Consequently, security must evolve and adapt to this "digital revolution": we are talking about traditional security services complemented by advanced and tailor-made offers.
Moreover, with the Coronavirus emergency, managing entry to offices and branches has become a fundamental issue, as it must guarantee customer and employee security, while preventing the formation of queues and gatherings.
The collaboration with Axitea
With its over 100 years of history, the BNL BNP Paribas Group is one of Italy's leading banking groups, with 2.7 million customers and 13,000 employees.
It is one of Axitea's historical customers, for which (preventive and corrective) maintenance services, technological expansions and updates are currently provided for all the physical security systems in the headquarters and at local branches in Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Valle d'Aosta, Emilia Romagna, and in Palazzo Deruta in Milan.
During lockdown, and in preparation for reopening the offices, BNL expressed the need to adopt new, appropriate and effective rules of conduct.
This was to allow the start-up and management of activities in a safe way, in compliance with the rules for managing productive and collaborative spaces and also entrances and staff flow management areas.
Targets achieved
The systems installed have made it possible to significantly increase security in the various buildings, responding to the Customer’s need to provide a valid temperature measuring and face mask detection system, while allowing the different facilities to reopen on schedule, with the security methods designed and adopted by the Customer.
The technological solutions adopted can also become strategically essential over time, as they are suitable for any upsurge in the health emergency, therefore covering the emergency investment made, or being integrated into the future entry control perimeter, by becoming actual terminals.
The project
Axitea’s solution includes autonomous body temperature measurement and face mask detection using thermal scanners with video display integrated in the entry control systems (turnstiles) already installed in the various locations.
The device triggers an alarm in the event of temperature higher than 37.5 being detected or if a face mask is not being worn, preventing the turnstiles from opening when the company badge is then read.
Regulatory compliant system
As the system does not record any biometric data or image, it is fully compliant with GDPR regulations and the privacy-by-design principle.
The temperature detection solutions proposed and adopted are at the current highest technological standards available on the market, and, combined with Axitea’s in-depth knowledge of the security systems installed and its high level of expertise of the technical facilities sector, made it possible to carry out the installations in a very short time, expanding the range of solutions offered for BNL.
