The "traditional" bank, with over-the-counter transactions, is evolving: branches are turning into service hubs to manage value-added relational activities and more complex operations, and represent new points of contact between customers and consultants. New sector focuses revolve around artificial intelligence, cloud, big data or fintech.

Security must accompany this evolution and adapt to the "digital revolution".

The need to keep existing technological systems functioning and to adapt buildings to new trends and local regulations, drives banks to implement activities aimed at preventive maintenance, limiting the obsolescence of the existing security systems, and performing an evolutionary maintenance to adapt them to new requirements.

Alongside physical protection of ATMs from attacks, banks from thefts and robberies, and executive offices from unauthorized access, cybersecurity plays a key role.

Protection of sensitive data (customers, confidential documents, etc.) and full accessibility to financial transactions via home banking are the new assets to protect, in an era where phishing, BEC (Business Email Compromise) and malware attacks are becoming more frequent and sophisticated.

Moreover, with the Coronavirus emergency, managing access to branches has become a fundamental issue, as it must guarantee the customers’ and employees’ safety (whilst preventing the formation of queues and gatherings).
