Axitea renews and extends its Ayuto personal security offering
The Italian global security provider enriches its range of services for businesses with new configurations for security…
The Covid emergency has made organisations more vulnerable to cyber risks. Axitea draws attention to the need for continuous risk assessment.
Milan, 6 April 2021 – Not only a health and economic emergency: the Covid pandemic we are currently experiencing has also brought with it significant effects in terms of corporate security, particularly with regard to cyber aspects. This is why Axitea, the Italian Global Security Provider, draws attention to the need for the continuous assessment of IT and organisational risks, in defence of organisations.
Cyber security is one of the areas most impacted by the state of crisis. Indeed, the cybersecurity sector has been strongly affected by the Coronavirus situation, recording a 300% increase in cyber attacks since the start of the pandemic (Federal Bureau of Investigation – FBI data).
The emergency scenario has profoundly changed our habits and forced us to use digital as the exclusive channel for our work, social and leisure activities. More than a year after the outbreak of the pandemic, we are faced with a world that has completely changed in countless respects, most notably the perception of risk itself.
Especially at corporate level, pandemic risk factors have quickly become top of mind, while demonstrating the growing vulnerabilities and uncertainties of an increasingly globalised, interconnected and digitised world. Increasingly frequent cyber-attacks, business continuity disruption and biosecurity risks are the challenges facing companies today. At the same time, the need to build secure, integrated and highly resilient operating models has become a priority across all market sectors.
“Security, however, is not only cyber; never before has it been so topical to speak of integrated security. Companies must be able to secure physical and digital assets as well as communications between employees, whether they work remotely or operate regularly or occasionally on company premises, and also manage their protection against the pandemic risk,” explains Maurizio Tondi, Director of Security Strategy at Axitea.
In many companies, strategic risk management plans, investments and anti-contagion policies have been provided for to ensure the safety of employees and customers, with measures that have extended from temperature control at entrances and automated counter sanitisation to access management and the dynamic redesign of collaborative spaces to ensure social distancing.
Although numerous initiatives have been launched in this sense, it has emerged, even in a complex and uncertain scenario, that a more adequate and more industrialised integrated risk analysis as a primary tool for prevention, planning and counteraction is to be considered possible, reasonable and in some respects even mandatory.
“Today, more than ever before, there is a need for adaptation or the creation of an extended and strategic plan that can orchestrate and reconcile physical, health and IT security profiles strongly oriented towards the sharing and management of crucial data and information,” continues Maurizio Tondi
Fundamental components in the creation of an integrated risk management plan must include, in addition to an evolved governance model – which considers travel security, customer engagement and the supply chain in a secure mode – the following elements: Risk identification, quantification, approach and training; communication to internal and external stakeholders; ergonomic redesign of work spaces and workplaces; adaptation of procedures and protocols up to the detailed plan of activities and investments.
Axitea, as a Global Security provider, offers all the tools needed to deal with cyber security in an organic and integrated manner, starting with an in-depth analysis of the status quo in terms of systems and business processes. It then carries out a complete assessment to understand the cyber, operational and biological risks, and suggests a series of corrective tools, to be implemented always with a view to achieving an overall vision, which considers security as a critical element for corporate business.
