Cyber Security Index: Axitea launches the cyber risk assessment

Axitea, Italy’s Global Security Provider, expands its range of cybersecurity assessment solutions by launching Cyber Security Index, a free assessment service that analyses the company’s digital footprint and quantifies in a real score the company’s risk level against potential cyber attacks.

Cybercrime is now a global problem, affecting every organisation, from small public and corporate entities to large multinational corporations. Growth is steady, so much so that the latest Clusit report recorded a 12% increase for 2021 compared to 2020, opening the door to further growth.

In this context, where criminals can count on a vast arsenal that ranges from ransomware to phishing and on increasingly broader attack surfaces that also involve the supply chain, Axitea is innovating its services by making Cyber Security Index, a free analysis that provides the level of exposure to cyber attacks of the company and its IT resources, available to its customers and to anyone who wants to become aware of their own cyber vulnerability.

The analysis, based on the same activities followed by cyber criminals to gather information on the target to be hit without being detected, maps the company’s digital footprint by querying third-party platforms. These, in turn, analyse data freely accessible on the Internet.

Using specific search engines that scan all the connected devices on the web and Internet Intelligence platforms, which allow the identification of the company’s data leaks, the number and quality of exposed services as well as the known vulnerabilities present, the results are correlated thanks to an algorithm proprietary to Axitea, which allows a score to be generated on the degree of exposure to cyber attacks, the Cyber Security Index.

Once the score is obtained, it will be possible to request – without obligation – a screening by the cyber experts of Axitea’s Security Operation Center, who will interpret the data and identify and list any critical triggers.
