Axitea partners with BlackBerry for AI-based cybersecurity

The Global Security Provider enriches its offering with BlackBerry’s Cylance AI cybersecurity solutions for identifying and managing threats at the highest level.

Milan, 29 June 2023 – Axitea, provider of integrated physical and digital security solutions, has signed a partnership with BlackBerry, the pioneer of AI applied to cybersecurity, to offer its customers an even richer and more comprehensive range of security solutions based on the most advanced technologies.

The partnership stems from Axitea’s desire to expand its offering portfolio with highly innovative solutions that make the most of the latest technological innovations, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

Specifically, BlackBerry Cylance® solutions can be seamlessly integrated into the incident response automation flow and were chosen for their flexibility of use in IT and OT environments. With CylanceENDPOINT™ offering compatibility even on outdated systems and obsolete equipment, Axitea is able to provide effective security for industrial networks, while low CPU requirements offer solutions with sustainability in mind.

The partnership also enables Axitea to offer CylanceEDGE™ for enhanced cloud security and to deliver innovative managed services that provide comprehensive protection of endpoints, identities and networks, even when segregated or used by devices outside the corporate perimeter and whether an endpoint is online or offline.

The collaboration between the two companies dramatically improves the way managed services are used by Axitea’s customers and allows them to actively monitor the handling of incidents and have full visibility of their strategic assets. From now on, corporate customers will be able to collaborate on customising managed services and avoid the false positives that are typically generated by poor policy configuration.

Platforms for securing identities, from endpoints to servers to data transiting on devices outside the corporate perimeter, have been tested in Axitea’s laboratory and validated to be offered as part of the cyber managed services offering.

Security remains a major concern for companies in Italy, regardless of their size and the sector in which they operate. According to data from the Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory of the School of Management of the Polytechnic University of Milan, cybersecurity is the top digital investment priority among companies, both large and SMEs, for 2023, with 61 per cent of organisations over 250 employees having decided to increase their security budget in the last 12 months.
