Axitea launches CISO as a Service for increasingly integrated cybersecurity in business processes

The growing importance of cybersecurity to protect and support corporate business has made the role of CISO, Chief Information Security Officer, increasingly common. Axitea, an Italian global security provider, is responding to this pressing market need by offering an innovative service, called CISO as a Service, through which companies can equip themselves in outsourcing mode with a point of reference figure in the definition of IT strategy and ICT security policies for internal and external stakeholders.

According to the Cybersecurity & Data Protection Observatory of the Polytechnic University of Milan, despite the increasingly crucial importance of cybersecurity, only 41% of Italian companies have outsourced their IT security to a CISO- This figure reflects a context where not all organisations, especially SMEs, have the necessary resources to equip themselves internally with a specialised figure, and where investments in cybersecurity tend to translate into the purchase of basic solutions.

In order to overcome these difficulties, Axitea has decided to innovate its services by making it possible to outsource a CISO as a Service (Chief Information Security Officer in ‘as a Service’ delivery mode), which can be used by companies at a cost aligned to their specific needs.

Appointed with the mission of defining and implementing the governance and strategy for cyber security, the Cyber Security Manager, with a view to achieving both defensive (Security) and proactive (Safety) ICT management, will be responsible for directing managerial choices towards optimised solutions for the reference structure. It will have to ensure quality in the executive control of directives by collaborating with the other company figures, guaranteeing macro-activities such as compliance with the principles of secure configuration and processes of cybersecurity assessment and monitoring, incident management, remediation, disaster recovery, recovery and training. All this, while providing the company with a unique value in the management of Cyber Security processes and in the full assurance of the efficiency and effectiveness of directly or indirectly managed information systems and security policies.
