Axitea adopts ESG strategies for a sustainable corporate future

Sustainability is a key theme for Axitea, as well as a core principle of all its business processes. The company, which operates as a Global Security Provider on the Italian and international market, has for many years embraced the environmental themes of development, liveability, and enjoyment of life while respecting the ecosystem. Moreover, aware that in order to be considered ESG-compliant, an investment – whether economic or of resources in general – must be backed by sustainability, the company has reshaped its governance processes, implementing a series of policies aimed at achieving a lower impact of its activities on the environment and an improvement in the living and working conditions of its staff, in particular by managing:

• Control over resource consumption

At Axitea, an Energy Manager constantly monitors process KPIs related to the consumption of energy, fuel, paper, toner, water and other resources obtained from non-renewable raw materials, optimising the processes to limit the environmental impact related to the production of goods and services. On the other hand, the Mobility Manager manages the demand for mobility of the resources, organising harmonious and sustainable travel plans with a view to reducing vehicle traffic. Axitea has also been UNI EN ISO 14001 certified since 2017 for its Milan office and has recently included ESG standards in its OMCM (Organisation, Management and Control Model) and Code of Ethics, communicating them to all employees.

• ESG compliance of its suppliers

Axitea shares the effort related to ESG criteria compliance with its suppliers, measuring their performance indicators punctually and periodically. Each Axitea supplier must in fact accredit itself to the Axitea supplier portal by filling in a specific questionnaire on the topics of sustainability and focus on social values and labour policies. Implementing a supply chain that is aware of and complies with sustainability policies is an essential value for Axitea, which must also be supported and developed for the benefit of its customers.

• The implementation of ESG-relevant policies and SA 8000 certification

Axitea implements social policies in favour of the resources employed, guaranteeing respect for the fundamental human values of life and work, and opposing all kinds of discrimination. Since 2021, the company has held SA8000 certification on all its national sites, an effective tool to ensure the proper management and monitoring of ESG activities and processes related to workers’ conditions such as human rights, development, valorisation, training and professional growth of people, and the health and safety of workers.
