Milan, 18 May 2023 – Axitea closes the 2022 financial year with a total net profit of EUR 3.2 million. In 2022, the Company’s revenues amounted to Euro 92 million, an increase of Euro 13.2 million (+16.7%) over the previous year. The number of employees increased from 1385 (2021) to 1628 (2022).
“If we take into account that in 2014 the company was making a loss of around 75 million euro,” said Marco Bavazzano – CEO of Axitea – “and that today we are able to finance our activities autonomously, the situation is more than satisfactory: the results achieved in 2022 certify that we are in an extremely healthy state.”
To further confirm this, the Company’s shareholders’ equity currently stands at EUR 60.4 million, and in light of the expected economic performance over the next 5 years, there are no critical issues that could jeopardise the Company’s current capital structure. Net financial debt at the end of the year amounted to Euro 22.2 million (Euro 25.8 million at 31 December 2021). Investments (gross of disinvestment activities) made in 2022 amounted to approximately Euro 2.9 million, of which Euro 2.3 million related to alarm systems installed at customer premises and granted on loan for use.
The results come at the close of a year in which the company also maintained various safety and compliance certifications, as well as confirming its inclusion in the ‘White List’, the list of suppliers, service providers and works executors not subject to mafia infiltration attempts held at the Prefecture of the Province of Milan. This certifies the company’s ethical soundness, enabling it to enter into public contracts with a considerable simplification of the control procedures required by the public administration.
Axitea’s commitment to the management of activities related to sustainability issues was also fundamental. It was presented within an internal organisational/guidance model called ‘AXI ESG – Environmental Social Governance’ which aims to measure the capacity of companies in the supply chain to calibrate and manage their impact in environmental, social and managerial governance terms.
“This is a central issue,” Bavazzano concluded, “because it is now clear that the economic system will increasingly tend to reward those business entities that show they are moving towards sustainable development.”
