Axitea has announced its commitment to implementing and maintaining a Corporate Social Responsibility Management System according to the 2014 version of the international standard of the NGO Social accountability international.

The standard, in addition to compliance with national and all other applicable laws, prevailing industry standards and international documents and conventions, provides for compliance with a series of requirements that a company management system must adhere to in order to obtain SA 8000 Certification.

There are 9 requirements in total, 8 of which focus on the company-worker relationship and 1 on the functioning of the system with a particular focus on suppliers, with the aim of improving production conditions and the quality of the social ties within a company. These are joined by the basic principles and values that underpin Axitea’s own commitment to social responsibility:

  • valuing human capital, respecting the rights and pursuing the well-being of employees;
  • pursuing health and safety in the workplace, professional growth and staff satisfaction;
  • consistency between values, strategies and behaviour;
  • the promotion of human rights protection;
  • transparency and dialogue with institutions;
  • fairness, transparency and legality in relations with suppliers and all stakeholders.

Through the adoption of standardised procedures for the analysis, action, control and correction of the company’s management systems for Quality, the Environment, Safety at Work and, last but not least, Corporate Social Responsibility, Axitea’s staff strongly believes that ‘the resulting benefits will not only be expressed in terms of company results, but also within the context in which the company operates, involving in particular all the stakeholders identified’.
