On 7 March 2023, the memorandum of understanding “Mille Occhi sulla città” (“One Thousand Eyes on the City”) was signed at the prefecture of Milan with municipalities in the province.

“Mille Occhi sulla città” is a project that was launched in 2010, initially agreed on between the ministry, the National Association of Italian Municipalities and the various private security companies, which was later joined by the prefectures.

Axitea is part of the project.

What is it all about? It is an agreement that provides for the widespread presence on the territory of SSGs (sworn special guards) engaged in private patrol services to ensure greater public safety with the ultimate objective of gaining a more effective control over the territory.

The objectives of the agreement also include the enhancement of the Guards’ observation tasks, through the activation of a homogeneous and organic operational system of cooperation and communication between the operational centres of the surveillance institutes and those of law enforcement and local police forces, in order to report situations of interest for public order and safety, including those related to environmental and degradation factors affecting urban safety.

The prefecture will also undertake to promote training activities, carried out with the support of law enforcement and local police personnel, for Axitea SSGs.

This will also help to raise awareness of the responsibilities and the importance of the tasks assigned to supervisory personnel.

This is not the first time Axitea has been involved in such activities: the Thousand Eyes on the City project is also active in other parts of Italy. These include: Brescia, Vicenza, Treviso, Pisa.
